    Learners will explore boundary concepts that enhance professional coaching services. Autonomy, attachment, and responsibilities will be defined and analyzed. Social identities, power dynamics, and their impact will also be discussed. - 1 CEU

    HARM REDUCTION

    This training is designed to provide participants with a deep understanding of harm reduction principles and practices. It aims to equip healthcare professionals, social workers, community leaders, and advocates with the skills to effectively implement harm reduction strategies to support individuals with SUD. - 2 CEUs

    In this course you'll be introduced to effective and engaging ways to engage with youth in your community and / or on your caseload. Through lecture and engaging exercises, you'll be able to put into practice the latest research and best practices when working with youth. - 1.5 CEUs

    WORKING WITH 2STLGBTQ+ PEOPLE

    Created in collaboration with the Pride Center of Vermont, learners will explore language and its impact on the 2STLGBQ+ community.

    We'll also analyze what recovery looks like and best practices for its access and implementation. - 1 CEU

    THE SCIENCE OF DRUG DEPENDENCY 

    Ed Baker ACSW, LICSW (ret.), LADC (ret.) will deeply explore the physiology of the brain and how substance dependency can change it over time. He will also dive into the harmfulness of stigma and stigmatizing language. Finally, Ed will give us some hope for the future of the people you are connected with. - 2 CEUs

    COMPASSIONATE CONVERSATIONS 

    Throughout this course we'll discuss how to hold space, professionally and personally, with compassion and integrity. Learners will explore specific techniques to deepen their understanding and the quality of their interactions. The impact of those interactions will also be explored. - 1 CEU

    THE PEER SUPPORT MODEL

    The purpose of this course is to assist clinical and non-peer staff in creating a deeper understanding of the roles of peer support and recovery coaching within organizations and communities. Learners will also explore the history of the peer movement, and and discover best practices in the field. - 1 CEU

    In this course, we'll explore the realities of aging for those who are close to us or on our caseload.

    We'll consider physical, emotional, and cognitive effects and practical tools to support our work with the aging population. - 1.5 CEUs

    TRAUMA RESPONSIVE CARE

    In this introductory course, learners will explore what trauma is and its effects, both physically and emotionally. What is the difference between being trauma "informed" versus trauma "responsive"? We will also review and analyze the relationship between trauma and stigma. Finally, learners will identify effective strategies for working with survivors. - 1 CEU

    PHARMACOLOGY 101

    In this course, an overview of current drugs and their effects will be reviewed and the effects of substances on brain physiology and the body will be analyzed.

    In addition, harm reduction and its philosophy will be explored. - .5 CEU

    JOB SKILLS 101

    In this course learners will explore some essential skills to help them to get and hold onto their job. You'll gain an understanding of building a strong resume and how to interview well. This course is ideal for folks that have been out of the job market for a time (due to life circumstances), or just want to gain skills to find a new job. - 0.5 CEU

    EFFECTIVE PARENTING & RECOVERY

    In this introductory level course, learners will explore different parenting techniques and communication styles. You will also analyze how those parenting styles are affected within the context of recovery. Mindfulness techniques will be practiced as well. And finally, local and national parenting resources will be reviewed. - 1 CEU

    INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE

    Learners will examine the definitions and dynamics of domestic and sexual violence. The overlap of substance use will be explored as well. Learners will also identify how and why to make a referral to a Vermont Network member organization. Finally you will consider ways to respond to survivors that are safe and accessible and that nurture connections and are empowering. - 2 CEUs

    ADDRESSING RACIAL BIAS

    In this training, learners will explore the historical context of race and racism in America and its current impact. They will analyze the concept of intersectionality and how forms of bias can overlap. Finally, learners will develop ways to address bias in their lives, communities, and workplaces.- 2 CEUs

    RURAL POVERTY IN VT

    In this course, learners will define what rural poverty is and its similarities and differences with urban poverty. Historical, social, and economic factors will also be explored. Throughout the course, learners will define the unique cultural dynamics of VT communities. Reviewing respectful ways to engage local traditions and values when designing interventions. - 1 CEU

    CULTURAL HUMILITY

    This training will encourage learners to self-reflect, acknowledging power imbalances, and make a commitment to learning. Learners will also explore implicit bias, empathy and compassion, and be encouraged to develop effective communication skills. - 1 CEU

    RECOVERY FRIENDLY WORKPLACES

    This course will explore the qualities and culture that are associated with a Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) and what prevents it, such as biases. Learners will gain an understanding of addiction as a disease and the meaning of the recovery journey. A review of RFW best practices will be discussed. - 2 CEUs

    ADVANCED MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING

    In this advanced level course, learners will explore the spirit of Motivational Interviewing. From partnership to acceptance to compassion to empowerment to presence. In addition, foundational processes will be analyzed in detail. This course is designed for those who already have knowledge and skills in Recovery Coaching and Motivational Interviewing. - 2.5 CEUs

    RECOVERY COACHING IN HEALTHCARE SETTINGS

    Learners will review and analyze the Vermont specific protocols that pertain to the unique environment of hospital emergency departments. The emphasis for professionalism, boundaries, and self care will be explored. Communication skills, with a focus on the hospital setting, will be applied. The goal being to build trust within the healthcare team. - 2.5 CEUs

    In this introductory training, learners will explore the foundations and principles of community organizing.     In this basic course, learners will review what bullying is and explore effective strategies for talking to youth about bullying and its tactics.     UNDERSTANDING CO-OCCURING DISORDERS

    This advanced level training explores co-occurring disorders, their definitions, prevalence, risk factors, and the challenges of diagnosing. In addition, learners will analyze evidence-based treatment approaches like integrated care, cognitive and dialectic therapy, motivational interviewing, and group therapy. Learners will also define stigma and bias and their effects on healthcare. - 3 CEUs

    UNDERSTANDING POLY-SUBSTANCE USE

    This training unpacks Vermont’s sharp increase in polysubstance overdose deaths involving fentanyl and cocaine now the most common combination. Participants will explore how to respond with evidence-based harm reduction practices tailored to stimulant-opioid mixes.
